The State of Illinois will celebrate Chamber of Commerce Week 2023 from September 10 – 16. For the NCCI, this is an opportunity to share highlights of the organization’s partnerships, initiatives, and growth with members and the entire community. Programs will include an open house on September 14, a social media campaign, and a joint program with the Village to promote disability inclusion and sensitivity in the workplace.
“The state’s recognition of Chamber of Commerce Week emphasizes the positive impact of chambers on their communities’ economic health,” explains Kathi Quinn, Executive Director. “NCCI is proud to have served the Northbrook community for over 65 years. We want to help people understand the many ways our organization provides support for the business community as well as our strong partnerships with the Village and other public bodies.”
- The Chamber’s open house on Thursday, September 14 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. will welcome both current members and the public for information and conversation. Guests will be able to pick up Community Resource Guides and other publications, take tours of the historic Civic Building, and chat with Chamber staff and leadership. Members are welcome to participate as sponsors or volunteers; contact Kathi Quinn for more information.
- Have a story to share? NCCI would welcome statements from members about how the Chamber has affected their professional lives. Your comments could be shared in a social media campaign during Chamber week, or in future NCCI publications. Reach out to Carolyn Gessner, Communications Director, to share your thoughts.
- Continuing its longtime partnership, the Chamber joins with the Village of Northbrook for an interactive workshop on disability awareness for businesses. Join us at the Northbrook Public Library on September 11 for this free event, including display tables from non-profits that specialize in employment placements for individuals with disabilities.
