After a tumultuous period of inflation and interest rate adjustments, is the U.S. economy turning a corner?  Learn what may lay ahead in the coming months when Thomas Jalics of Fifth Third Private Bank shares an engaging, comprehensive overview of the year ahead at the Annual Economic Outlook Breakfast on April 25, presented by the Northbrook, Glenview, DBR, Highland Park, and Wheeling Chambers of Commerce.

We are excited to welcome back Tom Jalics as our presenter for this year’s Economic Outlook. As Managing Director & Chief Investment Strategist for Fifth Third Private Bank, Tom leads the Investment Management Group’s asset allocation process, both strategic and tactical, which informs the management of the $40+ billion in assets under management at the bank. He provides internal and external communication on the economy and the markets, making public speaking and media appearances on behalf of the bank.

Tom’s presentation, The Year of Clarity, takes a data-driven review of factors that will determine whether the U.S. economy achieves a soft landing or enters a recession. His talk will examine the jobs picture, the labor market, Federal Reserve actions, inflation, interest rates, and credit conditions in an examination of where we are today and where we expect the U.S. economy to go for the remainder of 2024.

With over 25 years of industry experience, Tom has been a sought-after industry expert and commentator having been quoted in the media including The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg Business News, The Economist, and Reuters. Tom has also appeared on television and radio including Bloomberg (Television, Radio, and Business News), CNBC, and CBS Radio Chicago.

Based in Cleveland, Ohio, Tom earned a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and Economics from Miami University and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He also has earned his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) professional designation.

“Since Tom Jalics spoke here last, he has been on the road sharing how the elections affect stocks and businesses. Providing critical data is important for our members. Tom will provide the economic outlook needed for 2024 with depth, clarity, and humor. Don’t miss this event,” notes Kathi Quinn, Executive Director.

The Economic Outlook Breakfast will be held Tuesday, April 25 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Deerfield from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. The presentation will include time for questions.  Advance registration is required by April 21.
