Expo Builds New Connections for Growth
July 29, 2026
Chamber members, prospective members, and community guests came together for a productive evening of introductions at the Connect 2 Grow Annual Small Business Expo in July. Over 60 exhibitors shared their products, services and stories with an engaged audience that filled the ballroom at the Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel. In addition, government agencies, Cook County Source resources, and mentoring services were available to help small businesses thrive.
Marc Levin, ShelfGenie, has consistently participated in the Expo for years to demonstrate his company’s custom pull-out drawers for kitchen cabinets and pantries. “This year’s Business Expo was one of the best I have attended in several years,” shares Marc. “Attendance was fantastic, and the Expo continues to be a valuable experience because it brings together local businesses, community members, and potential referral partners in one place. It is always a great opportunity to strengthen existing relationships, make new connections, and share how ShelfGenie helps homeowners create more accessible and organized spaces.”
New Chamber members found the Expo to be a great platform for building relationships. “It was amazing!” says Sonia Gudino, Best in Home Care Chicago. “I had such a great experience and I made many valuable connections with the greater community and other local businesses. I saw smiles, laughter and great conversations. That’s what community is about. It’s about bringing us together as a whole, getting to know and trust someone and building on that. I’m already looking forward to joining next year!”
For Rebecca and Calvin Lam, owners of theCoderSchool Glenview, the Expo was an important first step in their Chamber journey. “As a new business in the community, the Business Expo was an invaluable opportunity to introduce theCoderSchool Glenview and our mission of inspiring the next generation of creators through coding,” says Rebecca. “We are thankful for being able to connect with fellow business owners and experience this incredible sense of community at this welcoming and successful event.”
